Battery Backup / UPS(Uninterruptible Power Supply)

What is a UPS? A UPS is a life support system for you computer.

It protects against loss of data and hardware damage resulting from power cuts or fluctuations in the mains supply. The UPS has its own battery, which cuts in automatically in the event of a power cut thus protecting you from loosing unsaved data you are working on. If the mains stays off, then the UPS will remain working giving you time to save your work and shut down your system safely.
A UPS will also filter your power supply against spikes to some extent, but only models that filter continuously and provide galvanic isolation give you the added protection against hardware and software malfunctions. A UPS can be connected to, file servers, workstations and peripherals, so printers, scanners, modems and external disks can all be protected.

Although we may source from any supplier of UPS equipment, our preferred choice after testing is the 'Invensys' range of Uninterruptible Power Supplies, due to reliability and features included for the price.

Examples of the Invensys range include the Powerware 5115, 5125 and 5140 as show below.
